Also, the game has a quite outstanding map builder, where you can basically do what the game programers did. You can design every aspect of the terrin,howbig the map is, how many resources there are, how big the castle is and how many people are in it, the attacking force, when things happen theives, fire, etc.

You basically get to start from the ground up. Overall, this game is most definetly worth it:a lot of quality game, for a realativly low price. With many realtime strategy games on the market, you have to make a good one to come out on top, and that is what Firefly Studios has done with Stronghold. Stronghold is an amazing combination of realistic Castle building and realtime strategy. And unlike most other strategy games, you have to maintain a happy population. Things such as charging taxes upon your population decreases their happiness. Providing them with large rations of food increases their happiness.

It takes some skill to maintain a good population, with all the factors involved in this sim. Firefly Studios also did a great job with the combat side of the game. There are many units, including crossbowmen, knights, pikemen, and seige equipment such as trebuchets.

You can even design your own maps to play on with the map editor the game contains. There are even famous castles availible for download on the internet. One of them is the Tower of London, and all of the castles are designed the same way as the original castles were.

This game is sure to keep you occupied for hours at a time, and it becomes addicting, with the realistic gameplay and the intense battles. Stronghold is sure to make an impact on your view of gaming. And another great thing is it’s low cost. Buy it, you won’t regret it. Me and my kids are AOE2 fans and love the battles, and this game is a great network gamers addiction. Stronghold Crusader features individual crusader regions, where peasants fight among themselves.

Each campaign is made of several battles. Players can indulge themselves in them and fight till the end until they win. Upon completion of every Campaign, they will be rewarded with different useful things.

A lot of options will also get unlocked. The latest installment also depicts the crusader trail, a continuation of 50 connected missions against multiple enemies. Besides offering innumerable crusades and campaigns, players can witness a plethora of characters in this game. They all appear as AI-controlled roles, in the skirmish mode. Players can choose them accordingly as their enemies or allies. Stronghold Crusader continues the story and gameplay of the original series.

One major difference is that the latest instalment is set in the Middle East. Now, people get into dispute eventually because resources and farmland are limited. Players can also utilise other resources like marshes, quarries, iron ore, etc.

These resources are to be collected by players in the course of the game. They can decide whether to sell them for money or use them for defense purposes. You can sometimes get things to work by judicious re-naming of things to 8 characters or less. In particular, the main game program often can be renamed, as long as you leave the rest of the game’s files alone. EXE” should get it running. As the years go by I get further away from playing it as now I have windows 8 and dont really know how I can manipulate it to run such a game. Last time I was able to play it was windows Amaranth 0 point DOS version. The game is in french, just in case you are like me and didn’t notice the fr after the title up top and didn’t assume it is french. Not hard to read, honestly this is probably not a bad way to learn some basic french.
